Adi started preschool today. My friend Kim is teaching her and her son, Will. She had a great time, but didn't want to learn how to write her full name. She can already write "Adi", and thought that was good enough. Kim told her that she was going to learn to write "Adison", and Adi told her, "I don't want to." After Kim explained to her how a classroom works, Adi willingly began to practice. That's my girl!


Piper stayed home with Mom and helped watch Kim's little girl Kaitlyn. She was a big helper (even if she ate Kaitlyn's crackers and drank the water from her sippy cup)!

A New 'Do

While we were in Utah, the girls' and I got new haircuts. Adi got a cute lil' bob,

Piper got a spunky pixie cut,

and I had a whole foot cut off. Finally! Thank you Grammie Billie for the awesome job!

Back Home!

Lagoon Fun

We all went to Lagoon yesterday: Nana, Zach, Marissa & Katelynn and of course the Merrill bunch. We all had a great time. Adi & Piper loved the kiddie rides, so we tried out some adult rides with them. We took the girls on Rattlesnake Rapids, a ride where you get very, very wet. Adi was laughing and having a good ole time, but Piper was crying... that is until she noticed Adi was laughing so she tried to, too!


Porter had fun just chilling in the stroller or being packed around in the sling.

To The Hogle Zoo We Go...

We went the Zoo in Salt Lake today... Zach & Katelynn, Nana and the Merrill Group. We saw bears and tigers and spider monkeys; yet the girls' favorite part was the kettle corn. Porter wasn't too sure about sitting in the stroller at first, but he started liking it

Missin' My Girls

For some insane reason I let my mom take my two beautiful daughters back up to Utah with her yesterday.... since then I have been crying pretty much non-stop. "Enjoy yourself," they say. "You needed this!" Yeah, yeah. I want my girls!!! I'm flying up Saturday to spend a week with them up there, but until I see their munchkin faces, you can count on what I'll be doing (hint: crying).

Another Day, Another Book

I am so pleased to announce that I finished the newest Stephenie Meyer book... if you haven't read these yet, really, go do it! I don't know what you other Twilight Fans think, but I kind of wanted Bella with Jacob :( Now, no death threats, its just a personal thought...

Anyway, now I have to wait another year and a half for the fourth installment. What's a vampire junkie to do?

Bye, Bye Mommy

My mom is leaving to go back home to Utah (thanks Dad for not sharing so well!), but she should be back for Halloween... the girls are already counting down the days. Stupid Utah, taking away so many that I love. At least she was here for Piper's birthday and for her own 25th (wink, wink) birthday. Well, hopefully all will go well this coming March when my Dad retires so they can hurry and move back here by us!

Oldies But Goodies

I was reviewing my video collection and came across these videos of when we were in Thatcher for Eliana's (Parker & Jennie's baby) blessing. I think the kids are all so cute so I had to post them! Keep in mind these videos are almost two months old...

Piper had her second third birthday party yesterday. Her chosen theme was flip-flops (don't ask, that's just Pipes). We had our family over for french bread pizza and an ice cream sandwich cake (yes, yes I actually made it, don't look so surprised). The kids decorated sand buckets and foam visors and played at the "beach"- which was created in the girls' room with lots of crepe paper and lots and lots and lots of balloons. Piper didn't get to sleep till 9 o'clock (2 hours post normal bedtime) due to her sugar rush, so I call it a successful party! All of this fun stuff going on, and yet Piper still said that her favorite part of the day was bathtime... go figure. The best part was the free part; I don't know why I even try.

Porter & His Latest Feat

Porter can sit up on his own! He's still a little wobbly, but he can. He's been able to balance in the sitting position for three weeks now, but he can finally do it long enough for me to get a picture (kind of). He's much better sitting up when he folds himself in half- he can hold that pose for a few minutes (of course, he ens up spitting up everything in his belly).

A Fun Night

The girls had a sleepover at Aunt Whitney & Uncle Chris' house- and boy did they have fun! Whitney got them new swimming suits and took them to the dollar store and bought them the cheerleading pom-poms (among other things!). Mom got to stay at home with Porter & Dad and just relax. Piper, my little mama's girl, cried when Whitney told her that it was time to go home!

Missing the Family

The Buckway group- sans the Merrill Branch. Sadly, we haven't all been together since... well since right after Zach & Marissa's wedding January 2006! Here's hoping for an entire-Buckway Thanksgiving & Christmas!!
