Let me begin by saying we had a great weekend up at Clear Creek Ranch at the Beus Family Reunion. Really, truly did.
Then, right as we were packing up to leave, this little thing happened...
I was inside, chatting up a literary storm with my sis-in-law Emma, when OP carried little man in, drenched in blood.
I think I went into shock because I don't remember much ofwhat happened until we reached the hospital 2 hours later.
Thanks to all the Aunts and Uncles and cousins for getting me into the car as I sputtered around in shock. And thanks to Noreen who kept her cool and got him bandaged-up for the car ride. You guys seriously rock!
Since the gash was clear down to his skull, they doped him up with kedomine (not sure if I spelled that correctly) then reattached the skin together with 4 interior stitches and 11 exterior.
Thank goodness (though it will haunt OP and I for a very long, long time).

Oh my goodness. I am so glad he is alright. That is so scary when something happens to your children...especially when it involves a lot of blood everywhere. He looks like he was a trooper!
Wow, that is a huge one!! That first picture is intense! I don't think I could have handled it at all.
You poor thing! It is so scary our kids are so fragile and yet still at this age think they are indestructable! But I say the sleepy meds are the best! It makes the experience less traumatic! You need a nice day at the spa to recover!
Oh man that is quite a battle wound! He looks happy enough in the middle picture. Hopefully he is healing well!
Poor little baby!! He looks like he is one tough little guy!!!! I hope he is feeling better soon. That's one good thing about kids they bounce back fast...........faster then Mom & Dad do! Someday this will make a great "war wound" story for him :)!
Tell your Mom hi for me!
How Cow!!! Poor kid!! He is so dang cute though, I hope he's doing good.
Poor buddy!! I hope he is okay! I can't beleive he was not screaming bloody murder in that first picture! Tough kid!
That's a picture you have to hold your hands over your eyes and peek through the fingers!
