To the pumpkin patch we go...

Let me be honest.  I am missing Utah right now.  The changing of the leaves, the cool, crisp weather, all of the fall activities we would do as a fam at this time of the year.

I especially missed Cornbellys  (here's last year's fun and the year before).  I did find this little pumpkin patch/family activity place not too far from us here called Vertuccio's Farm.

Now, this place was no Cornbellys (hey- I'm only being honest), but it was fun non-the-less.

First off was the cow train.

OP told me to get in and hold Wyatt.  I laughed in his face and told him that I had no desired to get stuck in a cow-painted water barrel, thank you very much.  So he wiggled in (and yes, it took him a minute and some shimmying to get out).

Pipes and PG attempted to milk a wooden cow.  Notice Adi in the corner?  She wouldn't go near the fake udders.

Everyone took a turn whacking this thing to try to ring the bell at the top.  Adi made it to1 1/2.

Pipes made it to 2.

And Porter could barely get the hammer to meet the pad.

I am proud to say that my hubby rang the bell (after three tries, but who's counting?).

No, I didn't take a turn.  There was a serious line of little kids so I felt guilty taking up their play time.

Next came the bouncy-horses race track.

These babies were hard to stay on

Orrin had more luck

And yes, I love the fact that I'm married to a giant kid.

Wyatt was just wondering what the heck everyone was doing.

Now, on to the corn maze!

When I saw how big the maze was (over 3 miles) I wasn't really digging the idea of getting lost in there with three walking kids and a stroller that wasn't made for dirt paths, but to prove that I am just as tough as my daughter Piper, I zipped my lips and ventured in.

To let you know what the goal was in this buggy terrain:  they gave each of the kids a paper like this:
and at each of the six check-points in the maze they crayon-rubbed a unique print in the squares.  If they filled in every square, they got a prize.

We got three, and that includes the "freebie" one they give you at the beginning of the maze.

But the kiddos really wanted the prize, so we walked

And wandered

Posed for a few pictures ("No Porter!  Look at MOM"):

Meandered:

We might have cheated a few times and took the mini-paths that are set-up for the workers.

We let the kids decided which way to go at first, but after going in a circle three times, OP and I started choosing the paths (ok, Orrin did.  I was as hopelessly lost as the kids).

Porter was the biggest complainer of the lot.  Until OP gave him a drink of water and told him that it transforms people into Power Rangers.

And then he was happy as a clam.

I finally declared that we were finished looking for the stamps and that we needed to get. out.  now.

Then we moved onto the air pillow.  I do not know where these kids get their energy from, but after the corn maze they still did this:

for a good 20 minutes.

After we pulled the kids off the jumpy-thingy we went and stared at a few animals.  The girls got a kick from this sign:

Everyone else was up there petting the donkeys, cows and goats.  And this is what Adi did:

Hello sliver-infested teeter-totter.

We then let the kiddos choose a tiny $1 pumpkin to take home (the big ones were anywhere from $10-$15 bucks a pop.  No thank you.  I'll go to Walmart).  And then I insisted on taking some photos.  I just wanted one good one of all four kids.

Adi, do your real smile.  OP do something to make Wyatt look over here.

Porter!  Look at Mom.  Orrin, seriously get Wyatt to look here.  Adi!  Smile normal.

Oh, never mind.  Let's just pay and get in the car!

And there were about ten other tries in-between these.

Oh. and as proof that I was there:

My legs and feet.  Orrin cannot be trusted with the camera.
