It's that time again...

Allow me to introduce the spooky members of our terrifying family.

First, there is the Dancing Dead Ballerina.

Otherwise known as Miss Piper Pauline.

Piper wanted her face to look like this, unfortunatley her mother has the shakiest hands in the southwest.  So here's what she got.

But, hey, it was enough to make Wyatt growl every time he looked at her painted face.

A very special thank you goes out to Halo Heaven for the costume assistance.

Now, here is the family pet werewolf,

The always smiling Porter-Pot.

It's the strangest thing, to paint your son's fingernails.

Also: if your little boy ever tells you that he wants to be a werewolf for Halloween and you think to yourself, "Now that's an easy costume."

Just slap yourself.

One must fix one's gigantic back paw claws occasionally.

Here is our resident superstar, Taylor Swift.

*cough* Adison Merrill *cough*

I could not convince her to be anything scary (I really pushed a zombie Taylor).  But, it was an easy-peasy costume.  A sparkly dress, tall boots, and a set of red lips is really all you need to be the ever-lovely Miss Swift.

Oh, and the Guitar-Hero-Modge-Podge-Glitter guitar.

"Oh, Mom.  I LOVE this picture of myself!"

And last, but never, ever least.

You have no idea who my youngest nerd is dressed up as? Perhaps this will help:

You now say:  Doctor who?

And I say:  EXACTLY!!!

The tenth Doctor, to be perfectly exact.

I can see you giving me that the-kids-have-finally-driven-her-completely-bonkers look.  No.  Well, yes they have.  But I am completely in love with the BBC show, and the tenth doctor stole my heart forever.

 NAILED IT!

Wyatt is the ever-nerdy but entirely-addicting Doctor Who.

Seriously, follow the link, people.  And this one too.

Here The Doctor is showcasing his 3-D glasses that he used to study the Void.

Oh dear, I am really showing my Geek-Stripes today, aren't I?

Sadly, I did not get the oh-so-handy Sonic Screwdriver in time for the pictures (mostly because I forgot to order it).  But will you take the Tardis instead?

Yes, I poorly photoshopped that blue phone box into the picture.

And I loved every dorky moment of it.

*sigh*  I feel so fulfilled looking at those pictures.

Moving on...

We tried to get a group shot of all the spooks together.

Not. Gonna.  Happen.

Happy Halloween Month!

And yes, Halloween is a month-long celebration for this family!

A Captured Moment

"Ummm... can you see what your children are doing?"  Orrin asked on Saturday while we were sneaking in a few hubby-wife TV moments while the kiddos ran free outside.

"Do I wanna see?"

"Absolutely not."

And I always take my husband's word on things like that.  So I continued staring at the television

"Where's your camera?"  His question intrigued me enough to take a peek.

Awww... crap.

Did you notice the look on Pipe's face when she sees Orrin looking at her?  Take a closer look:

Pretty sure she was thinking, "I am so dead."

But then Mom and Dad started laughing and Mom even took the camera from Dad's novice hands and started snapping.  And she knew that she would live another day.

This little girl was loving the mud.

Wyatt joined for a moment.  But he was really, really confused.

Mainly, he wanted to know why his tricycle had a rope tied to it.

That little knot was truly bothering him.

Adi and Piper decided that it was a spa and they were getting mud baths.

Funny thing: PG was the most reticent about the mud.  I think he was waiting for Mom to start freaking out.

Wyatt also did not care  for the sagging pants.  You know, at all.

Confession time: normally I would have freaked out.  And there probably would have been punishments given out.  Luckily, I have my other half. The calm(er) one. The one that sees the humor in a little girl in pink bathing herself in a muddy lake under our trampoline.  The one that reminds me that it'll take ten minutes to hose the kids off and clean 'em up, but we'll be giving them a lifetime of memories.

And hose the kids off, he did.

And another thing that bothered Wy-Fi.

Like, a lot.

And my floors still have their muddy lil' foot prints smeared across it.

I'll clean it up.

Eventually :)

How these kids stay so dang tiny...

After dinner, nearly every night, the kids randomly start doing this when Mom turns on her "Doin' Dishes" playlist (don't you have a playlist specifically for chores?).

That's how they stay so thin :)

P.S. Remember this way back when (scroll down to the bottom)?  This dancing thing is tradition around these parts.

Take Me Out to the Ball Game

It's time for fall sports, people!  This season PG had a choice between soccer or baseball in our little neighborhood league. I was really pressuring him to play soccer.

He chose baseball (I'm pretty sure just to spite me).

Saturday was his first game, and Aunt Whit and Uncle Chris came out to watch.

Whit brought her awesome new camera so we could get action shots from every angle.

I think Porter forgot how slow baseball is.  Seeing as how he looked pretty darn bored for 90% of the game.

Dad tried to sideline coach after they had to pull out the tee-ball stand for PG to hit off of.  Poor kiddo.

But he caught on pretty quick and started hitting like a champ.

Water break!

Good game, buddy!  Hopefully next season you choose football...

Not that I don't absolutely love watching you play baseball.

But seriously: football.
