Nancy doesn't have anything on these ladies

First, I would like to do a bit of whining before I share these millions of pics with you.

On Friday, in the midst of preparing for our Activity Girl's Daddy-Daughter 50's dance, I took a bit of a spill down the basement stairs. Let's just say that I'm going to start turning on the dang lights before venturing down the toy-strewn stairs.

So I hurt my poor ankle. It is not broken, just very hurty.

Anywho, so I got to do entertain 14 young ladies for two hours while limping.

I was not at my best.

So, here's the main party room:

I honestly popped six bags of popcorn to feed these starving girls. No joke.

And all that bubblegum? Gone within the first five minutes of the kids arrival.

The sleuth bags. Not my best work, but they were sufficient.

And the books that inspired it all (my grandparents gave them to me way back when I was 9).

But wait a minute... where are the cupcakes?

*Gasp*

They have been taken!

But by who?

The Feather Bandits?!

(Please don't judge my rhyming. I wrote all of these pretty late at night)

So up went the police tape. It is, after all, the scene of a crime.

Adi was a bit anxious to get the party started...

I had two of my Activity Girl's come over to help (they are my main helper-girls at these parties). They played the detectives when we started the investigation.

They led us to the clues.

Ah ha, here is another one...

This clue-finding gave me a bit of a scare.

Another clue...

Every master-slueth needs a master disguise (yup, that's Pipes behind those glasses).

The Feather Bandits!!!

My Activity Girls played double agents...

The party-goers handled this situation with their chinese finger traps.

And they found the cupcakes (in the feather adorned box back there).

And Miss Adi finally got to blow out her candle.

And open her presents...

And there was still an hour of the party left (I thought the clue-hunting would take longer than 25 minutes to do.

So we played a little freeze dance. And watched a couple of Selena Gomez and Taylor Swift music videos.

And I do believe that this party can be considered a success.

At least Adi thought so!
