My lil' Porter Pot has now taken his first step into the Man-world.
He's playing flag football.
Just look at that smile.
Today was his first day and he was so excited. Last night he lined up his pants, shirt, shoes and hat across his dresser so that he would be all ready to go in the morning.
Yes, I am well aware that he is wearing a hockey shirt to play football. It was actually pretty chilly here this morning so he needed to wear a thermal.
The coaches gathered all of the little dudes (and one dude-ette) together to explain some of the basic rules (no tackling).
They ran a few laps.
Stretched a bit
And then they actually got to hold a football. It was like the heavens opened and angels sang down on these kiddos.
They ran a few drills (Coach is explaining what to do)
They practiced throwing back and forth for a while (that was pretty entertaining), and then they divided the team into two mini-teams (the Sharks and the Minnows- now how is that fair?) and started showing them how to play.
They had a hard time with it for a few plays, but then they got into the groove and started... ok. So they never quite got it. But they had fun running around after each other.
Then PG's mini-team (Minnows, btw. I feel so cheated with the name) go to velcro on their belts.
Ready, RUN!
See this little girl? She was the only girl on the team and I'm pretty sure the only one who had any idea of what she should be doing.
And she wanted one of Porter's flags.
So she chased him. A lot.
And yes, she did finally get one.
And then she wanted more.
To say that Porter had an awesome time would be a great understatement. Look at his face:
And I got an epic picture
Action shot, baby!
Oh, and Mr. Wyatt and Steph cheered Porter on with me.
