A Party

A few things before I get to posting the gazillions of pictures that I took at my Momma's annual Halloween party.

1) I put my camera on automatic because I was too lazy to figure out the right settings for shooting manual.  If you feel like being a judger-mcjuderson then please do not continue scrolling down to the pictures.

2) I had over 300 pictures of this event. By the end of sorting and editing, I reached a point where I didn't care anymore.  So I stopped editing.

3) Our parties have gotten 300x awesomer since our Marshall cousins have moved here.  Do you know how astronomically sweet it is to have a bunch of older kids who pretend to enjoy watching your children?

Now, on to the party.

My Mom chose a Harry Potter theme for the par-tay.  And it was epic.

First, costumes were required.

And here we all are prepping.

I was a ceiling fan. Get it?  Go Ceiling!

Because my mom is boss, she created Platform 9 3/4 that we all had to walk through

And everyone had to walk through it.

Please take a moment to really enjoy this remarkable make-up job.

Seriously awesome people.

I loved Whit's Minnie Mouse costume.

I made the skirt.  And by made I mean I serged a straight line down the back of a pre-gathered stretch of fabric.  It still counts (bringing my grand total of number of costumes created by moi this year to nine.

Poor Minnie Mouse is married to The Heisenburg.  You know, the Breaking Bad dude?

Wyatt had a tough day. No nap + too much sugar = a strung out, out-of-control toddler who absolutely refused to get clothes put on.  Trust me, I really did try.

Walt kept photo bombing with his bag of.... candy.

Let's admire people some more, shall we?

The sorting hat made a presence at the party (in disguise as Adi's old witch hat from a few years ago).

Someone didn't enjoy being placed in Voldemort's house.

*it should be mentioned that at this point, Wy-Fi had gotten into the 7-hour red lipstick and painted his body with it.  We ran with it, since 1) it looked like blood and 2) it was stuck on there and there was nothing we could do about it.*

Good eats!  Butter beer,

Butterbeer cupcakes (to. die. for.)

and Stacey's little pumpkin creations

There was an actual meal, but these babies stole the show.

A few people showed up late *couch*Zach*cough* and not in costume (grade-A party poopers).

Also, our old friends from back in ye-olde-Gilbert days popped in.

There were games, prizes, and homemade wands galore.

(Another good reason for keeping enthusiastic tweens and teens around: they are excellent game managers)

Wyatt made up his own game of Ring-Around-Nola.

As you can see, she really loved it.

Of course Harry Potter was playing in the background.

Wyatt ended up looking truly terrifying by the end of the night.

The ladies performed to "This is Halloween".

And we kissed each other goodbye so my kiddos could sleep off their sugar-binge.
