Pizza at the Park

Life has been stupidly busy lately.

("We don't say stupid"- that's what I would have said to one of my kiddos right there)

There's been too many activities, too much school, too much "home improving". Too many friends, too much TV, too many chores, and way too many nasty germmies leaving runny noses and coughs in their wake.

Lately I've been craving summer (and not just because of the very un-Arizona like weather that has taken residence here in the desert state).

I miss having the kids be mine. All mine. I miss deciding to grab a pizza and eat dinner the pool. Watching my kiddos enjoy themselves without any electronic assistance.

I found myself lost in remembrances such as these tonight. Remember swimming until bedtime? Remember not caring if everyone got a bath that night since there would be plenty of time in the morning? Remember not having the ugly-anxiety driven monster perched on my shoulder whispering, "Stick to the schedule, Courtney. There will never be enough time to get everything done if you don't."

Did I just let you see how incredibly crazy I am?

Anywho, moving on...

Tonight we zipped on our jackets and tied our shoes. We traveled the familiar route to Little Ceasers, and for a mere $9.99, we had ourselves a little slice of summer.

*Please do not ask about my children's strange fascination with rocks. Seriously: there's a huge playground and my kids all end up sorting rocks.

I have no idea why they are so weird.

Even in sunny AZ you can get the winter blues, darn. Come on summer!! On a side note, I have to buy a much bigger pizza to satisfy my kiddos.

Be glad you aren't in Utah! I wish I could be in Arizona right now.
Off-topic: There's a video on the web of a dad who vacuum's his daughter's hair into a ponytail. I laughed so hard - then realized that it totally screams of OP and Adi/Piper. Very cute!
